Student Leadership Team

At Lift Beacon High, we believe in the power of student leadership to create real and lasting change.

Becoming involved in student leadership activities gives young learners opportunities to think and talk about aspects of teaching and learning and can have a direct impact on pupils’ metacognitive development and their understanding of how they learn.

Lift Beacon High Student Leadership Manifesto

“We are what we believe.” – Nike Running

At Lift Beacon High, we believe in the power of student leadership to create real and lasting change. As Student Leaders, we embody the values of LORIC — Leadership, Organisation, Resilience, Initiative, and Communication — in everything we do. We also live by our core expectations: to be Safe, Ready, and Respectful every day, in every situation.

This manifesto is our commitment — a promise to drive positive change for all students at Lift Beacon High.

Our Vision

As the Student Leadership Team, we empower and support our school community. We believe every student has a voice — a voice that deserves to be heard, respected, and acted upon. Our diversity is our strength, and we dedicate our time and energy to ensuring every student feels valued, included, and inspired to achieve their best.

We recognise our responsibility in how our school presents itself and how it is represented beyond our walls. Through a strong and active School Council, Student Leaders are the driving force of student voice — working alongside staff and the Senior Leadership Team to create meaningful, positive change.

Our Student Leadership Team reflects the diversity of our student body, ensuring that every culture, belief, and background is celebrated and respected.

Our Commitments

The Student Leadership Team will:

  • Ensure every student feels safe, welcome, and part of our school community.
  • Support students to feel confident, prepared, and ready for secondary school life
  • Identify and prioritise areas for improvement that enhance daily school experience
  • Raise concerns and work collaboratively towards solutions that benefit everyone
  • Gather student views through School Council representatives in every year group
  • Present these views in School Council meetings and share them with senior leaders
  • Champion academic progress and celebrate achievements of all students, regardless of ability
  • Promote excellent communication skills to support success across all areas of school life
  • Represent the student body with pride in meetings, visits, and external events

Our Aspiration

We are ambitious. We believe in the potential of every student. We are part of a community where respect, inclusivity, and kindness matter.
